During the Festival, women are the ones who must make the first advance. The men remain stationary in groups while the women move from one grouping to the other getting acquainted with the men of their fancy.

How it works

When a woman is attracted to a man, she approaches him, picks him by the hand, and invites him for a walk. During the walk she asks all the important questions that will help her decide whether he is the right man for her. If she is convinced that he is the right man, they both walk to a tent where scribes are already seated, who then announce them husband and wife, and then begins an elaborate festive ceremony.
